The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is hosting the Transmission LA: AV Club Festival till the end of April. The vibes were good and hips were swaying as crowds of ridiculously good-looking people enjoyed music, art, and exclusive Kogi deliciousness. The AV Club Festival is curated by none other than legendary Beastie Boy, Mike D. Oh yeah - did I mention it's also FREE!?!
Mashup king, DJ Z-Trip is doing a set on April 28th. The whole place shuts down each night at 10pm, so get there fashionably early!

A company in California has crafted a keychain for the lovers (not the fighters). The metal that once served as a weapon of mass destruction now hangs from keychains waiting to get the party started.

This is what legends are made of my friends. This man's bearded ballad should earn him internet stardom.

Years ago I had my first tattoo done by an angry, chain smoking, punk rocker named Kevin. Needless to say, we got along well. Kevin had moved to San Diego not long before we crossed paths at SuperFly Tattoo in the downtown Gaslamp District. Kevin had incorporated a few different elements into a piece for my arm - all of which had to do with music. We swapped stories and smoked cigarrettes for over 5 hours on a Saturday morning while Kevin inked away. Kevin told me he'd been ousted from a post hardcore band back in Florida. The band was touring nationwide, only this time with a teenage kid as their new lead singer. That band was From First To Last. That kid was Sonny Moore. Sonny Moore's stage name is now Skrillex. Skrillex is changing the electronic music scene.
Check out Skrillex's interview on BBC. Despite only being in his early 20's, Skrillex has played more genres of music and stages worldwide than most musicians will in their lifetime.
